Hey There, I’m Amy.
I am a self taught artist based out of the Manitoba Parkland. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a love and a passion for being creative. I find joy in creating things and gifting them to others. It never gets old seeing something I’ve created bring another person happiness.
Here’s a little bit more about me.
Born and raised in Manitoba on a small cattle farm in the red river valley, I grew to love nature and agriculture. So much so, that I decided to earn my Diploma from the Agriculture Faculty at the University of Manitoba. During that venture, I met my husband Kevin, and we’ve moved back to the Parkland. Here we live on a small acreage in the Ochre River area with our two kids, chickens, dog, cats and bottle-fed calves.
I picked up watercolour as a new hobby in 2019 while at home with our kids; I grew to love it and I have been pursuing it ever since.
A love for cards has been passed down to me from my grandmothers. Throughout each year, whether it be birthday, Christmas, Easter or just a note to say hi, both my grandmothers would send me the most beautiful cards in the mail. I knew that when I opened that card it was picked specifically for me. Today, I still have a stack of those cards from my grandma’s.
I’ve always loved the idea of having my own business, and the lifestyle that comes with it. So, in 2020 I decided to give it a shot with my watercolour art. I started with a few painted greeting cards at a local market, and it has quickly turned into a business I am proud of and continue to grow.
When I am not painting, you can find me playing with my kids outside, petting the animals in the barn, mountain biking , snowshoeing or snowmobiling with my family.
I’m always open to chat. You can find me on Instagram hanging out and showing more behind the scenes of the watercolour process. You might even get a glimpse into the rest of my life here on the farm!
